A while ago, we were treated to the pleasant surprise of InZOI’s Early Access release, giving us the chance to dive into this beautiful life simulation game and discover who it’s truly made for. (If you missed my first impressions, you can read my detailed InZOI review here: InZOI Review Part 1 – Create Your Zoi.)
Now, on August 21st, 2025, InZOI is finally getting its first-ever free DLC — Island Getaway (also known as Cahaya). This tropical-themed expansion promises new destinations, activities, and fresh gameplay for players eager to escape to a sun-soaked paradise.
Thanks to the InZOI Partners Program, I had early access to Island Getaway, so I’ve been exploring everything it has to offer before release day.
So, grab your favorite drink or snack — because this review is packed with details to help you decide if InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) is worth jumping back into. Ready? Let’s start with Create a Zoi!
Create a Zoi
Before we dive into the details, it’s worth noting that mos hairs and clothing are completely unisex as usual in InZOI, and most are also available for children. This keeps customization flexible and inclusive, which I love!
New Faces
Alongside the InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) DLC, the latest update also introduces 8 brand-new faces and presets for your Zoi characters!
I have to say, I really like these additions - they feel exactly like the kinds of people you’d spot on a tropical vacation. In fact, I think they nailed the “British tourist” look a little too well with the second preset on the top row (yes, the girl with the sunglasses - you know the one).
But honestly, that’s the fun of creating a Zoi! I’ve always loved this aspect in games like The Sims, and I’m glad to see InZOI embracing that same playful creativity.
New Hairs
One of the most exciting surprises in the InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) DLC is the addition of 8 brand-new hairstyles - many of which are specifically designed with black hair in mind. While the base game’s hairstyle selection has improved over numerous updates, it was still lacking in diverse options.
The developers have truly outdone themselves here, creating beautiful, detailed, and authentic hairstyles that add much-needed representation and personality to our Zoi characters.
New Clothing
When it comes to clothing in the InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) DLC, things are pretty straightforward: the new outfits are heavily island-inspired, with a strong focus on swimwear. In total, there are 42 new clothing pieces including: 10 tops, 1 overshirt, 25 sets, and 11 pairs of pants plus 12 new shoes to complete the look.
While not every piece is personally my style, I do appreciate that many of the designs are versatile and timeless enough that they won’t feel outdated too quickly. Whether you’re dressing your Zoi for the beach, a tropical party, or a casual summer day, there’s a nice mix of fun and practical options here.
The only thing I would have loved to see is more plain bikinis and swimsuits. Many of the new swimwear items feel like they’re designed more for lounging beside the pool rather than actually swimming in it - and a few simpler, more functional pieces would have been a perfect addition.
Still, I’m happy to see swimwear getting more love in InZOI. It was definitely lacking those before.
Accessories
In terms of accessories, the InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) DLC adds a generous selection: 12 hats, 6 headpieces, 14 necklaces, and 6 pairs of earrings. Each piece ties beautifully into the tropical theme, adding personality and flair to your Zoi’s vacation wardrobe. (Oh, and earpods! Yay!)
The pink hat, for example, gave me total “pink pony club” vibes (lol) - but overall, the styles are definitely island-inspired, which I think is great. I especially appreciate the addition of the flower hairclip, which feels like a perfect finishing touch for holiday outfits.
One of my personal favorites, though, has to be the sunglasses for kids. They look absolutely adorable wearing them, and it’s a small detail that really brings their summer outfits to life! ☀
Conclusion
Overall, the InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) DLC is a sunny, stylish boost to the game’s Create a Zoi options! From tropical-inspired clothing and swimwear to beautifully detailed black hairstyles and charming accessories. While I’ve focused here on the DLC’s items, it’s worth noting that children are also getting a generous clothing update in an upcoming patch (yes, tuxedos included!).
The clothing leans toward versatile, everyday wear, which is great for long-term play, though the menswear selection may feel a bit light if you’re after bold or highly unique styles. The accessories, from flower hairclips to adorable kids’ sunglasses, perfectly complete the island vibe, and the new hairstyles add much-needed diversity to the roster.
For me, Island Getaway is the perfect excuse to jump back into InZOI, refresh my existing Zoi, and finally give them the swimwear we’ve been waiting for.
