I'm not 100% happy with what I ended up with here, but it's good enough that I think I'm finished working on it now, aha. I retextured the asymmetrical dress from NL using a bit of Witheredlilies textures, combining them with the original maxis textures so they work with the original mesh and retain the actual asymmetrical part; essentially this is everything I liked about both versions, with nothing I didn't. Then I made matching tops!

The dress comes in 7 Aelia colours + as close as I could get to the maxis red colour. These are shown on PF's default mesh edit, but work fine with the original mesh. I used my usual shoe texture for the shoes, and they also have tights. AF only, everyday & formal. The colours used for defaults of afbodydressasymetrical are marked on the swatch- they're texture only defaults and compatible with mesh defaults. NL is required for both custom & default versions.

The tops are just the top bit of the texture slapped on aftopnaked- these are also shown with PF's mesh edit (which come to think of it, so are the trousers in the preview... oops all PF body mesh edits? Makes sense as I have a lot of them, aha). NL isn't required for these, nor is any mesh. AF only, everyday, formal, and pajamas. Same colours as the dress, they don't look very asymmetrical under jeans like this, but they do retain the asymmetrical hem.
