And so we got to the last bit of the "First impressions" series! Now, I say first impressions instead of review, since learning from other players, there is so much more stuff that I haven't been able yet to get through in the 5 days I tried playing it!
A lt has also changed after the last review I did on the game. I'll be looking over what Island Getaway has to offer, but will briefly also share what's been updated since the last time you might've played the game. 😉
Cahaya
It's been on the map for a while, but we can finally we can check it out!
Cahaya is the newest world that's shipped with the newest DLC for InZOI. It's a lovely tropical place, based off of Indonesia! While Bliss bay came with a lot of cool beaches, Cahaya takes this to the next level.
Cahaya comes with a bunch of lovely views! If it's not for the beaches, it's definetly the realistic setting they've made for us to wander around in. While, the world still struggles with issues like having a bunch of "prop houses", they're not as bad as I'd felt before in the other 2 worlds as I went exploring.
As you enter the world, you'll notice that it comes with 2 sections! In the west (the right-hand side) we'll find the mainland, and in the east (left), we'll see the resort island!
Now, your first impressions might be "Oh! If i'm a local, can I go to the resort? Is that at all fun?" and without getting ahead of myself, actually, yes! It's a bit like going on holiday in your own country in that regard 😉
The Mainland of Cahaya
The mainland is where you'll find your ZOI living in, if you're …

(Read previous entry here: InZOI Island Getaway (Cahaya): Create-a-ZOI)
While Create-a-ZOI got a lot of love in the last post, this time it's up to check out those new Build Mode items!
Build Mode:
This includes primarily fences, gates, windows, doors, roofs, and a whole new pool system! 😄
For this we got: 1 new door, 5 new windows, 2 gutters, 15 new roofs, 2 new elevators, 8 fences, 3 gates, 4 pool floaties and 4 pool lamps.
All the windows and doors are very appropriate for the climate of where Cahaya finds itself, but I think some of these are going to be super useful in Bliss Bay too!
The new gutters are also really cool! In The Sims 3 I'd use them all the time and I'll probably do the same here lol.
Also yay for new tiny windows! The downside, however, is that you can't stack them vertically. I was hoping that we'd be able to! I think that would add some really cool architectural elements.
A good thing to note is that as of right now the new roofs cannot be recoloured. I think for what it is that's actually okay! A lot of these roofs are all differently themed in their own appropriate way. But I can also see how it may bother some.
We also now have elevators! And they work!! :D While I don't quite get why you'd want to "elevate" to your own floor, I think it's still pretty cool that we can do this now!
It's not really that well-fleshed out as of right now. Your ZOI will walk over to it and then teleport to the floor you told it to go to. But it's a start!
I hope in the future they'll also let us …

A while ago, we were treated to the pleasant surprise of InZOI’s Early Access release, giving us the chance to dive into this beautiful life simulation game and discover who it’s truly made for. (If you missed my first impressions, you can read my detailed InZOI review here: InZOI Review Part 1 – Create Your Zoi.)
Now, on August 21st, 2025, InZOI is finally getting its first-ever free DLC — Island Getaway (also known as Cahaya). This tropical-themed expansion promises new destinations, activities, and fresh gameplay for players eager to escape to a sun-soaked paradise.
Thanks to the InZOI Partners Program, I had early access to Island Getaway, so I’ve been exploring everything it has to offer before release day.
So, grab your favorite drink or snack — because this review is packed with details to help you decide if InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) is worth jumping back into. Ready? Let’s start with Create a Zoi!
Create a Zoi
Before we dive into the details, it’s worth noting that mos hairs and clothing are completely unisex as usual in InZOI, and most are also available for children. This keeps customization flexible and inclusive, which I love!
New Faces
Alongside the InZOI: Island Getaway (Cahaya) DLC, the latest update also introduces 8 brand-new faces and presets for your Zoi characters!
I have to say, I really like these additions - they feel exactly like the kinds of people you’d spot on a tropical vacation. In fact, I think they nailed the “British tourist” look a little too well with the second preset on the top row (yes, the girl with the sunglasses - you know the one).
But honestly, that’s the fun of creating a Zoi! I’ve always loved this aspect …
