The Fischer twins, Josef and Ernst and their sister, Juliana , lost their father in that pesky Plague that swept through the settlement last year, so they are doing their best to learn how to support themselves and build up a successful fishery in their father's stead.
Early starts are the norm and honestly tend to be pretty monotonous as they fish, fish, and fish some more while the eldest twin, Josef , makes sure that the Market Tables are kept well stocked.

A reporter showed up on the very first day and gave the fish market a bad review :(
When I tell you that five out of the seven days that I spent with this family were a variation on the above, please know that I am not exaggerating. There were the occassional moments of playfulness:

But the majority of time it was just work and more work...poor kids.
Juliana was by far the easiest of the children to keep in a happy mood, she loves cleaning and loves fishing and was more or less low-maintenance. Ernst was pretty similar as long as you could keep his Fun up and actually managed to come out of the rotation with a yellow Aspiration meter! I probably shouldn't be that excited about yellow, but when you saw Josef' s meter...

Poor guy. He's had it rough. I put all the responsibility of keeping the kids fed and clean and running the business squarely onto his shoulders. He's a Family Sim and you woud think that he'd be happy being around his own family! But no, he wants to start a family of his own and that's not gonna be happening for the forseeable future. So he's a bit miffed and has an Aspiration Meter that's scarily deep into the red. One night, after the others had gone to bed. I realized that I was never going to be able to get his Needs back up to a reasonable state on my own, so I got to use one of my new lots much sooner than anticipated!

Worked like a charm! And I was able to send him back to his family as a much happier Sim (nothing I could do about his Aspirations though, oh well).
I made sure to give them a bit of off-time so that they could get to know the Sims around them. They seem to get along particularly well with the Reed boys from next door.

I just love Henry Reed , he's going to be a cutie when he grows up!
