Anna turned out to be a little short of the funds to move into working class. She probably spent too much money buying takeaway from the Bethlehems - she had about four serving bowls in inventory. Those meals aren't cheap, and Anna had been barely scraping together the amount needed to move.
So, she compromised by moving to a better shack in the bad part of town. This is the old Fredley place with the pink porch; it has some advantages - indoor bathroom, private bedrooms, flourishing vegie patch, even some food still in the fridge. (It also has broken and filthy plumbing, and a very cramped living area.) Anna doesn't intend to be here long, however, she just needs a few more paydays.
Spring was a very busy time - as well as moving house, Christof (seen with his picture-book) became a toddler on the first day, and a few hours later, baby Elizabeth was born. Anna fixed the shower, and also tried to learn about gardening, with moderate success - nothing actually died.
Thank goodness for maternity leave, without it, Anna could not have coped at all.
Anna asked in a series of neighbours to help with the babies, starting of course with their father, Darryl. He's a devoted father.
Darryl also did lots of cleaning up, which was badly needed - there was the revolting toilet left by the previous tenants, plus the constant debris caused by babies. Another helper was Bonnie Bethlehem, heavily pregnant but willing to practise on someone else's sprogs.
At the end of the season, Elizabeth also became a toddler.
Despite the work of small children, Anna still shows no interest in having a live-in partner. Poor Darryl may be a visiting father forever, or at least until the kids are old enough to make their own choices.
...This time, Anna definitely has enough money, with a decent cushion for any spending spree, so they will be moving to better digs for the long Summer.
