Saleh is enjoying having a whole flat all to himself. He hasn't spoken to his family all season, making the most of the privacy he never got at home. Sometimes he sees them walking by, from his front window.

He bought some minimal furnishings - cheap, but NEW! - with a black and gold theme.

Luckily, that included a small sofa for the main room, because it turns out there is a downside to the flat. The neighbour on the other side of his bedroom wall loves to play loud music at ALL hours. Sometimes it isn't worth the hassle of banging on the wall, so Saleh just finishes the night on the sofa.

Other than that, he has thoroughly enjoyed his first season of independence. He got a new girl, Sally Grunt. Then he went to all the sleaziest venues in town, improving his pool game and meeting people. At the diner, he saw his other girl, Melissa Fancey, with someone else...that wasn't in the deal...!

...Saleh had to apologize to both of them later, and put up with a few days of bin-kicking. But he likes Sally better anyway, so no biggie, and the landlord usually deals with the rubbish.

A definite advantage of the flats is that there's all sorts of old stuff lying about the property. Saleh was able to pick up a few points of logic and creativity, just having fun. He has also discovered tinkering.

Saleh is in no hurry to settle down. He has decent digs and very little responsibiliy. His savings are holding out so far, and Sally seems to have a good job with the military... ;)
