The Olivera family has moved into their new working-class house. It was built as a company house in the mining heyday, so is not luxurious - but it has two bedrooms, a full kitchen and a separate living room. Not to mention a basement, for extra living space as the twins grow. There's room for a car outside too, if they decide to get one.
Here's the new kitchen - note the stove, which they never had in the old place. And a decent table with nice chairs. And curtains!
(The house itself is modeled on some of the coalpatch houses built by US mining companies in the early twentieth century. Cheap weatherboard, small but adequate.)
The Oliveras brought their toddler toys and beds with them, so the twins are still set for the moment. Florian and Matilda have a swank new bed upstairs, and they will have the funds to buy proper beds for the girls when they are older. Matilda has bought an easel, so she can advance in her career - and they are allowed to sell paintings now, too, so that could be an extra sideline for them.
Florian has already set up a new poker game in the basement, but is thinking of expanding - they can probably afford a separate business lot for him now.
