While Drake was quietly shut away in his study, Victoria took the spare time she had to call their daughter-in-law, Madeline Blanks. Madeline, who also worked as one of the family's attorneys, shared a familial bond with Victoria as neither had been the first choice for their respective marriages. Victoria hadn't been against her eldest son, Alexander, marrying Madeline, but Beverly made it known that Madeline was nowhere near her favorite candidate. Like Victoria, Madeline often ignored Beverly's harsh criticisms and veiled insults. /core/uploads/2025/10/14/5cf01c9d-802e-4b86-a35c-15df18eeb230.png/core/uploads/2025/10/14/c227e1e0-9d38-4e61-b1e8-e01aa19eb9a0.png “From a legal standpoint, there’s nothing Anton can do if Binky goes back on his word, but the unwritten rules of Paradise say otherwise. There are many in the faction who follow Anton already, not to mention Mr. Ralé approving the deal,” Madeline said after Victoria told her of Binky's plans. /core/uploads/2025/10/14/eca1ddcd-f93e-4e04-8029-2ff125b7b45c.png “Valerie is our main concern.” /core/uploads/2025/10/14/1f10a8b8-fcb1-45f6-8667-cf2aeaa3e1db.png “I doubt Anton tries to divorce her - she strengthens his claim on Binky's position. You should encourage Drake to persuade his father in favor of passing the torch to Anton. Let the matter be decided once and for all.” /core/uploads/2025/10/14/653e5918-9c42-4496-9b06-5a62fac17160.png Victoria felt the weight of Binky's indecisiveness. If he went back on his word, all hell would break loose in the syndicate as well as their personal lives.
