(Transferred from Pillowfort) This mod is built on the base provided by HugeLunatic. That base mod allows us to tune the frequency of different finds when digging, and to add EA or custom objects to the findables list. This is a global mod; while you have it installed, all digging will be customized.

I wanted a set of findables which my poverty sims might have salvaged by dumpster-diving or going through the trash. Rocks, bones, maps and treasure chests are still available, and your sims still have a chance of bursting water pipes. I have set the tuning at 70% for the special object list, and treasure chests at just 1%. Here is what one sim managed to find in 24 hours:

She did a lot of digging, but also had some sleep, and went out to get hotdogs since she didn't find anything edible. Her motives were not artificially maintained.

• Sims lose hygiene rapidly with repeated digging. This has not been altered; your sim will get stinky!
• Found objects can be sold and used normally. This mod is not meant to furnish your whole house, and it could take many days of digging to find a specific item. Your sims could sell excess finds to buy other objects.
• Feel free to adjust the mod tuning to suit yourself; you will need SimPE to do it. Follow the link to the base mod for a brief tutorial on doing that.
• Two versions are provided: a minimal, very safe CC-free version, no beds included - and a fuller version with both EA and CC objects. Choose only one!

The EA-only version contains game items which I deemed cheap and nasty enough to be 'salvaged' in this way – such as the Wornable Fridge, Cinderblocks Bookcase, and the Patioplastics chair. If EA didn't provide a suitable object, there is none for that category. Ergo, no counters, no toilet, no electronics, no baby furniture. The CC-version fills in some missing categories as well as adding extra options to the EA list. You do need to install the CC files in your game so the mod can find them. Only the meshes are included, although some objects do come already bundled with recolours. Image of included CC objects:

I have tried to include a reasonable range of findables, while keeping to a minimal number of items and creators. I used some extracted Castaway Stories objects, with add-ons by Ja, plus selections from Guatla's Broken sets, and various rubbish piles by Mistyfluff and Sophie-David which add trashy atmosphere, and can be used to earn skills or to stock a fridge. Plus two items which filled gaps in the lighting category, and Frac's scrap counter, because it uniquely fits the bill.

• A few items (edibles) are listed more than once in the mod, to increase their odds of turning up before your sims starve.
• I have checked the creator TOUs; to the best of my knowledge all is well.
• I use the Ultimate Collection, and have included objects without regard to EPs, so you should assume this mod needs everything.
• The download link includes the mod, all needed CC, images and info. Links are provided here for credit, and may lead you to recolours or to other things you may want.
