Digi Crescento Eyes Defaults + Alfred Askew Add-ons + Edited Heterochromia
I made a decision to completely overhaul the eyes I'm using because of a couple of pieces of CC: Enavanmari's Sclera Accessory, and Alfred Askew's eye default add-ons. I've always opted for looks over practicality when it comes to eyes, so I didn't tend to choose any animation-friendly ones, so I picked out a new eye set to work with! I ended up landing on Digi's Crescento Eyes because they're beautifully hand painted, and I really love the little crescent shaped reflection ˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗ You've already seen them in my recent preview pics ^^
The packages work in the same way as Alfred Askew's original sets, they use the exact same packages just with the textures swapped out, so you can easily sub in different sets. My set is slightly different though, in that I've decustomised all the eyes to base game , as I wanted them to be more like a true extension of the game's eye colours, rather than custom eyes with maxis-style thumbnails. I haven't included an alien default. If you want just default replacement eyes, you can just add the packages labelled 'DEFAULT Eyes_Maxis', ^^
I used 26 of Digi's Crescento eyes to fill out the set, and made one custom recolour for the rainbow one.

Nopke's Heterochromia Edit
I've also edited SimNopke's Heterochromia to fit this set! The packages are the same as Nopke's, but slightly renamed to distinguish them, so if you want my edit, you'll need to download the old packages.
I've decustomised the packages, so the base game colours are pinned to BG, and the EP ones are pinned to the appropriate pack. This took an age as accessory files have quite so many mesh overlay resources, aha. Then I made a set of new packages repo'd to Alfred Askew's more default eye packages, and also pinned those to BG. However, as you can no longer use the tooltips to locate them in CAS, I made thumbnails for all of them that show the colour + which side they are, so they'll appear like this:

Limitations and notes are the exact same as from the original post, with the small addition that bodyshop doesn't show custom thumbnails so, while they'll be easy to find in CAS, they'll be harder to find in bodyshop. Though them being pinned to packs slightly helps with this because they're at the back of the catalogue if you've got a lot of CC. If you want to use these with the Sclera Accessory you'll need the Heterochromia compatible version.

Bonus... A couple of supernatural defaults
I wanted to change a couple of my supernatural defaults to have matching eyes. I haven't settled on defaults for Aliens, Bigfoot or werewolves yet, but I'm happy enough with my plantsim and vampire defaults.
for plantsim, I've got Lifa's “Held By The Roots” Plantsim Default. That one doesn't have eyes, but I added a couple of the Crescento eye recolours (wilt state gets duller) to it so it'll now play ball with heterochromia. If you don't want your plantsims to change eye colour, get Lifa's original, aha.
for vampires, I've been using Io's 2018 edit to Magpie’s this corrosion, I swapped the eyes for a blood-red recolour of the Crescento eyes. So it's an edit of an edit, aha.
sorry that the previews for those are a bit skew-whiff, I very quickly took them in bodyshop using the heterochromia accessories and there's a little distortion.

After all that, I kind of feel like I can't take credit for any of this, especially after Digi went to the trouble of making such beautiful eyes entirely by scratch, and most of the packages are other's with my own edits. In reality this was many hours of very tedious editing in SimPE which I find was definitely worth it for my own game, I've been much happier streamlining my eye selection over scrolling through pages of custom options, and the animations even look good now! I'm mostly sharing because I hope that effort is also worth it for someone else, too ( っ˶´ ˘ `)っ
