Alfred's Eye Default Addons

Oh my gosh, I understand now why I was putting off this upload. This took SO long to take images for, and this was going through bodyshop. I can't IMAGINE how many hours it would have taken in-game (which is a bummer, because I'd love to upload this to MTS, but the requirements for meticulous credits and in-game images would make that completely infeasible.)

SO. I got sick of broken genetics in my game whenever I switched out eyesets, or started a new game - as happens when one plays the Sims 2 for many years. But I wasn't willing to settle for just the basic five colors the game offers. This is my attempt to fix that forever.

ALFRED'S EYE DEFAULT ADD-ONS

In each of these sets, there are 28 eyes. There are defaults for the maxis eyes (including alien), and matching add-ons with maxis-style thumbnails. Oh, and each folder also has an alien eye CAS unlocker, in case you don't have that. I always seem to misplace mine, so it seemed convenient to throw that in.

Each of these sets are THE EXACT SAME FILES with different textures. Effectively creating a larger "default" set of colors, the style of which I can now switch between, whenever I like, without breaking anything. I left the file names the same between sets, so you can easily search for conflicts, should you mess up and install more than one. Installing multiple of the same color isn't going to break your game, it just means only the last color (the last file) loaded by the game will show in game. There's nothing particularly special about these files otherwise. You could use simpe to switch out the textures in all the files you have in game, and do effectively the same thing for yourself.

I spent some time figuring out a spread of colors. Yes, you could theoretically think of colors that aren't in the pallet, but I'm gonna be real, even in this small of a spread it was tricky to differentiate the shades from one another. Irises are very small, all things considered. I don't have any need personally to have slight variations on the same darn colors. Between this and eyekits, I've been quite happy for the last however long I've been using it.

Let's check out the sets themselves!

Mouseyblue's "Fizzy" eyes, on a Mouseyblue sclera edit by me (zero black pits here). My go-to set, personally. It's a nice low-key level of shine, and it works well with various eye kits that add shine and whatnot.

Jessi's "The One Who Got Away", on the same Mouseyblue sclera edit by me.

HermitFox's "Falco" eyes, on the same Mouseyblue sclera edit by me.

Shady's Sparkling eyes, on a brand new sclera. I wanted something that did something to accent the inner corner, would animate well, and have that same kind of smooth, cool-tone look that Shady's original sclera had.

Yumedust's classic Eyelove eyes, on Rensims' ahead-of-its time awesome sclera. (I've never had the guts to go for a Yumedust look, now I can dip my toes into the shiny for a day, and then go back to my more traditional look.)

Speaking of shiny, here's an over-the-top look. It's these spacey, faerie orbs of magick by Cerebus. (I don't remember what this set was called, let me know if you know so I can label this for googl-ability.) The sclera is unchanged. I just wanted to see what my game looked like with these. [xD emoticon]

And for the games where I'm going pure Maxis-Match, Hermit Fox's lovely, clean-lined "Forest", on a newly redrawn maxis sclera. It's the smooth sclera you love, with none of the pixelization.

Again, these files CONFLICT ON PURPOSE. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE of each color of eye.

And of course, you are more than welcome to use these files to make your own sets (this is me desperately hoping someone else will build my catalog of eyes xD)... which is why I put together this last file!

ALFREDASKEW'S SCLERA RESOURCE SET

This is a collection of all my scleras (including three modern redraws of the older models that are pretty scruffy by my standards now, a new invention shown in the "Sparkling Eyes" set, and a redraw of the maxis sclera), as well as those by the old masters Anva and Ren; each with their irises completely removed as to be ready for turning into masks or putting any number of new irises on them. I also included three "alpha" textures, which can be used to make what I think are quite well positioned sclera masks.
