This world has been 3 years in the making so far, and I'm really hoping 2026 will be the year it finally wraps up! Seated atop the ‘rhino head’ where Lake Mohawksin meets the Spirit River flowage, the Barrhead School of Horsemanship (B.S.H.) is Wisconsin’s largest and most versatile lesson and boarding stable, spanning 53.1 acres and housing roughly 150 horses.

Our certified staff teach children and adults of all ages (6+), beginner through competitive levels, private and group lessons, 7 days a week rain-or-shine in a wide variety of English, Western, and team sport disciplines—but if that isn’t enough for you, we also host summer and winter riding camp for kids and teens, spring & fall advanced horsemanship programs, full and rough board, discounted lease opportunities for longtime students, formative showing opportunities, and plenty more!
