Part 7: Modding Must-Haves

There are "essential" mods that were also covered in the Part 3: Essential Mods for Game Health section, so I won't rehash those, but will add the Mods that I consider to be necessary to simulating an Historical game and its culture here.

Simlogical
Simlogical School Types This suite of Mods will give you supreme control over how your Sim Child or Teen is educated, or whether they are educated at all.
*I would suggest downloading Simlogical School Changer as Lady Lama's Plate Shelf as an alternative to Inge's default controller.

Simlogical Institutions: Schools
Gives you the ability to set up your own, functional schools, complete with a tutorial on how to set a custom uniform.

Pescado:
*Note: There are all taken from the FFS Director's Cut suite.

comm-skilling:
Controlled sims, NPCs, and townies may gain skills while visiting community lots, including non-college community lots. Notifications of skill-point gain will only be displayed for controllable sims. Enthusiasm may now be gained on community lots and while visiting.

localwalkby:
Sim residential walkbys now will only be people who actually live in your subneighborhood, so it will greatly prefer actual neighbors, not "guy who walked all the way here from Pleasantview".

no20Khandouts:
Eliminates the magic 20K handout when a sim moves out or graduates from college. A sim moving out will simply take a proportional split of the cash reserves of the current family. No more. No such thing as a free lunch. If a sim family breaks up, the sim being booted out will take the minimum amount to afford a lot, 3K, from the treasury if available. Otherwise, he gets whatever is left. If that's not enough to afford even the odd 2x2 lot....too bad! Life's a bitch and then you're raped by wild boars!

nohumble:
Makes Humble Computer buyable. Gets rid of the actual Rod Humble visitation and shameless unremoveble L&P pluggage clogging the play menu. Because the pluggage makes SSX3 almost tolerable. Humble will not return even when this hack is removed. By the power of Awesomeness, I cast thee out! Begone!

Cyjon
Smarter EP Check
Creates a new, more robust and accurate Expansion Pack and Stuff Pack check. This mod by itself does nothing, but will be required by many of my future mods.

Edukashun Iz Gud
Sims can get into any career track regardless of degree, but promotions will be limited based on education.

Job Stopinator
Put this object in a sim's inventory, and that sim will no longer get promotions. Useful for having, say only one Master of Arms in the kingdom. When he dies, you can remove the token on your chosen successor and allow him to rise to the highest level.

Squinge:
Always wear casual to work
This mod prevents the game from making sims change into work clothes before they go to work so they can wear whatever they have on to work.

Pregnant Sims Wear Any Outfit
This mod allows pregnant sims to wear any outfit.

Sim Randomizer, probably the Mod I use most after...

Visitor Controller
Allow or Ban pretty much anyone. Use this to avoid annoying NPCs, newspapers (for illiterate peasants), bills...anything.
*I would suggest downloading DR UNpotted Rubber Tree for use with Visitor Controller to allow the controller to blend in with your existing shrubbery.
