I wanted something a bit different from other medieval name replacements, something that went beyond just western european names. Crusader Kings was the perfect source. Crusader Kings is a medieval grand strategy game, whose map extends from Scandanavia to North Africa, France to India etc.

There were easily several thousand names to choose from. For the sake of my sanity and to not make the file too bloated, I went through and tried to pick he ones that I thought were best. I chose to exclude names that excessively used special characters, I also chose not to include all the possible variations of every name. In the end I came up with over 2000 first names for male, female, and last names. The combinations that come up aren't exactly historically accurate, but they fit well in a medieval fantasy-esque game.
