Today I bring you a JRPG-themed name mod for your townies and NPCs.

This mod contains 909 male first names, 864 female first names, and 630 surnames. Using this mod, it is very unlikely you will ever have two NPCs with the same name again.

The vibe I was going for was a little bit The Legend of Zelda, a little bit Fire Emblem, a little bit Final Fantasy. I pulled names from the wikis of all three games. Most of the names are from the Fire Emblem wiki, but there are also NPC names from Legend of Zelda (especially Breath of the Wild), Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Lagoon. I tried to shy away from major characters - you won't find a Link, a Marth, an Edelgard, or a Cloud on this list. But you might find an Anju, a Cid, or a Linhardt.

(This is why there's such a big gap between the number of male and female first names- there are a lot of Fire Emblem mook bosses with names like "BROCK" and "PAIN" and "BUG". Where possible, I copied names between the genders, so there are a number of gender-neutral names on the list.)

Surnames were a little harder- no one in any of these games has a surname unless they're a protagonist or from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. So I mixed surnames from FE3H with Final Fantasy Job titles and a selection of surnames from Kate Monk's Onomastikon. I mostly stuck to English trade names, with some German and Japanese surnames thrown in for flavour.

Obviously, this mod is not historically accurate. If you're running a high fantasy game, it might be right up your alley. If you're not... steer clear of this one.

RTFM: Put "Live.package" DIRECTLY in your downloads folder. It won't work if it's in a subfolder. This is a default replacement, There Can Be Only One.
