Update 6/6/2025

While troubleshooting some reported bugs, I encountered an issue where if one sim took the test, it would remove the test interaction from all sims instead of removing the from the sim that took it. Due to this, I have made the decision to always show the pregnancy test interaction. With that change, the only time the interaction will be hidden is if the sim is already visually showing their pregnancy.

I did fix the bug where the interaction would not appear on some toilets. This was an issue related to my IDE giving me a weird issue originally. Going back, I was able to fix the error without any errors during the build process.

A conversion of The Sims 4 pregnancy test to The Sims 3.

Why does this mod exist?

One special milestone for many during their pregnancy journey is taking their pregnancy test. This interaction was included in The Sims 4 and I thought it would be a great addition to The Sims 3. The ultimate goal was to add a lightweight mod that would allow players to use the interaction along with or without other mods to support everyone's playstyle.

What does this mod do?

When sims have completed a WooHoo or Try for Baby interaction, a new interaction Take Pregnancy Test (§15) will appear to allow sims to take a pregnancy test. The actual interaction will be similar to using the toilet as normal with a pop up after stating if the sims is pregnant or not. The interaction will disappear after 24 hours if the sim has not taken the test. This is also when a sim will start showing and receive their pregnancy moodlet in the game by default, if they are pregnant.

FAQ

There are other mods add pregnancy tests. Why create another? Yes, there are a few different mods that have pregnancy test. Some great examples include MonocoDoll's Menstrual Cycle 1.0.0 & Mingos' The Birds and the Bees. Those are amazing and I fully recommend checking those out. This mod is a standalone pregnancy test without changing how pregnancies are determined.

There are a couple of packages, what is the difference between them? The file descriptions and titles should help select which one to add your game. They all use the same code and are just configured using an XML file. Guide to file naming: MF = Male and Female F = Female only TeensAllowed = Teens are able to use the interaction

Why can't I see the pregnancy test interaction? The interaction will show up if a sim participates in WooHoo or Try for Baby interaction or becomes pregnate and passes the gender and age checks for the version installed in the game. The interaction will only appear once, so if you have taken the test the interaction won't show up until the sim participates in another WooHoo or Try for Baby interaction.

What does this mod not do? This mod will not change how a sim becomes pregnant. Examples: this mod does not add teenage pregnancy or allow pregnancy through a WooHoo interaction. Those functions would need to be added by a different mod.

Does this remove the pregnany chime from the game? No, there are other mods that already do that. I've included one in the recommended mods below. If are using the chime, you can still use this interaction for storytelling purposes :).

Known Issues

There has been a report that the Pregnancy Test interaction did not show up on the toilet. I'm currently looking into resolve this, a workaround currently is deleting and repurchasing the toilet or saving and restarting the game. This should now be resolved with 6/6/25 update.

Murkoose has reported incidents of the pregnancy test interaction coming up after visiting a two sims visit a lot together. Update: 6/6/25 will now have the pregnancy test always displayed. If decide to make the change back to only displaying the interaction after a WooHoo/TBH, I will continue to look into this issue.
