POET CINEMA RESHADE FOR SIMS 3 + RESHADE 4.7.0

I’ve been using Reshade 2 for… forever, but the older it gets, and the older The Sims 3 gets, the less the two wanna behave together. So I thought it time to upgrade to the newest Reshade.

This is essentially a conversion of the same preset of the same name, or at least it’s an attempt at it, which features a very dramatic vintage look.

Considering this is my first preset for this Reshade version, please understand it’s not perfect.

HOW TO USE IT

Open the in game panel by hitting HOME on your keyboard, and use the menu to switch between each preset depending on which one you need.

• Toggle PRESET - F6
• Toggle DoF - F7
• Toggle LETTERBOX - F8

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Simply unzip, and move the two preset files into your game > bin folder. For the file titled ReinhardLinear, move it to your game > bin > reshade-shaders > shaders folder.

REQUIRED SHADERS

• Tint
• Levels
• AmbientLight
• MagicBloom
• FilmGrain
• Vibrance
• MXAO
• Vignette
• Cinematic DoF
• FXAA
• Clarity
• ReinhardLinear
• Letterbox

Now, if you have all of the shaders pre-installed, meaning you ticked everything in the install window, you will probably have duplicates. I highly suggest you make sure you only have one Cinematic DoF installed. Go into the reshade-shaders > shaders folder and delete that one, this preset uses the one in the OtisFX folder. This preset uses no Quint shaders, and I suggest you don’t have them installed, otherwise, and I dunno why, qUINT_MXAO will turn itself on, if you like you can just delete this one in the reshade-shaders > shaders > qUINT folder if you still prefer keeping the other ones.

NOTES

Cinematic DoF cut my frames down in half, no joke, if you have an older rig, I just DO NOT suggest you use this preset, and if you do use it on a decent gaming rig, I suggest you keep DoF off, until you truly need it.

Every other shader runs good tho.

Once again I’m still a bit of a newb when it comes to this, so if anything goes wrong, just hmu.

CROSSHAIR ISSUE FIX

Thanks to @commonblacksimmer​, I realized I forgot to turn off the Cinematic DoF crosshairs. So I replaced the old download with a new one that removes them.

Sorry ‘bout that, and if you don’t wanna reinstall it, here’s how to quickly fix it yourself from the Reshade panel.

Simply untick this setting under the Cinematic DoF options.
