Background:

The younger daughter of a hedge tavernkeeper, Shianna expected she’d live a life of relative luxury. Even after her brother- who didn’t appreciate her habit of chasing everything on two legs- took over the family business, she was happy to do as she’d always done. Work the bar, flirt with the customers, take one or two to warm her bed, deal with the consequences on her own time. But that was before the invasion. Castle Clair was one of the last places to fall, but fall it did. Shianna’s brother, seeing the writing on the wall, ran from the invaders- and didn’t tell Shianna where he went. Their tavern burnt to the ground; their position in the world gone in a single night. Now, pushed to the margins, Shianna and her three children eke out a living as peasants, gathering herbs and foraging for branches and nuts. They’re not doing very well… but, come what may, they’re surviving.
