Background:

Ryder puts up with a lot. That's kind of an understatement. His friends might call him a doormat for how easy it is to walk all over him. He's a people-pleaser. He stepped up to help his mother handle raising his younger brothers, while his dad lost his job and his older brother moved out. He likes peace and the status quo, even at the expense of his own comfort.

The times he has to himself are cherished. He likes looking up at the sky and getting lost in the universe, asking deep questions. He wants to find someone similar-minded and easy to talk to.

He's been looking, has gone out on plenty of dates, which suit his romance aspirations and the closest he's found so far is his friend Alex. He would give anything to repair the recent damage to their friendship but it seems like it's too late.
