V2 Car Mod
Started by KevinVonCrastenburg
Information:
- Base Game Compatible.
- Comes With Various Wheels, Car Models & License Plates.
- I chose to upload all cars that belong to this mod series since a few of these cars were retrospectively added and/or updated to work with the mod. The following cars are additionally included: Bloom's 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, S281 Saleen, S7 Saleen (A Mean Machine) & 1968 Shelby GT500KR.
- Added The Invisible Parking Space Seperately. Found Under Vehicles -> Cars.
From The Original Descriptions:
! The mod:
- Place the car on a parkinglot
- Browse the wheels and pick one you like
- Move the wheel to the cars fender, it will autosnap to the correct position
- Browse the license plates and pick one you like
- Move the plate to the front/back bumper, it will autosnap to the correct position The wheels and plates will stick to the car and animate with it, no matter wat. When bored with either one then simply replace them. Sims will check out both soon as you start playing.
! The car: [Base Game Sedan Car]
-The basegame sedan modded to my liking * Chopped roof * lower front and back * Darker glass * 4 castable channels * Has no wheels * Has no license plates
! The doors: [S7 Saleen, A Mean Machine]
Cloned from the garagedoor, uses same textures and presets as the car
I wanted them to animate but it didn't look good, so i used its Geostates instead.
No animation just a switch(open/close from the garagedoor script)
Unforunate i could not kill the garagedoor sound.....srry :)
Hoover with your mouse over the cars roof to let the doors snap to the body.
! The lights: [S7 Saleen, A Mean Machine]
Cloned basegame lights for the headlight and taillight, both have a lightscript attached. Headlight snaps on the hood while tail snaps on the trunk.
! The radio: [S7 Saleen, A Mean Machine]
Has antenna wich snaps to the roof, listen music while driving or dance arround the car on community lots. I killed the radio effects.
! Creating [License Plates]
Create your own license plate, it is fun The plate package you can clone and update.
The wheel meshes however are all in one file but can be cloned similar as the plates. When you clone with TSRW it will load just one of the wheels but right after you cloned it you need to import the texture file. - create new project - open the wheels package - when viewing the wheel in TSRW click * project contents * import from package * import the wheel texture file Any changes to the textures WILL have effect on my files!!! When you want to use my setup you can delete them later from the package or If you want to create your own, then reclone the file(with textures) again so it no longers use the instance id numbers of my file.
! Issues/Info:
-When there is no parkingspace on a community lot the car stays on the street
-Sims sometimes walk through the car when checking out the wheels.
I personal hate that so i updated my invisible parkingspace for the rotating > > > carpodium(MTS2), this space is enabled with a pathing footprint(also has updated > placement footprint, now much smaller.)
This means you sometimes end up with a stampfeeting sim(for a moment) but looks alot > better.
-lighteffect will light up the sim during the day, turn lights off at daytime(auto doesn't > seem to work)
-2 Cars will show up in your game, both share meshes, footprints, RIGs, textures, etc etc but each has a diffrent script.
One with Fast Lane script and one with a basegame script.(diffrence between the 2 is the engine sound)
For basegameplayers the FL script probably gives you a car without sound, reason i included a clone with basegamescript
-The doors sometimes dont stick to the car(although i suspect it was my fault not cleaning my caches between edits)
Just check by picking up the car.
-Science functions on the radio will give you stampfeeting sim as it cant reach for it.
! Additional notes:
one or two rims dont look so good on the car, but are nice as deco. I did not include grounshadows, guess why :) Both the wheels and plates can be moved up and down(like wall objects) plates/wheels however will not fit a wall, they are positioned to snap to the car slot. You need a updated OMSP and OMSP tipsy if you want these on a wall.
