Background:

Hazel grew up as a precocious little girl with high interests in reading, charity for homeless animals, and bugs. Yes, especially butterflies. She's been working hard on her bug collection for years and her favorite season is any she can be outdoors and catch bugs. She also likes to play darts with her father when he's home from his busy job - which she doesn't know exactly it entails. She currently is a junior at Kashmire High and has a small group of friends which includes her cousin, Ros, who sometimes gives bad love advice. Hazel is by no means popular, and mostly considered one of the unassuming, passably attractive, unable-to-pick-from-a-line-up girls with a higher-than-average academic record.

She enjoys playing piano and wants to go into the natural science career when older. While she may be considered dull and apprehensive to break rules, she is noted as kind and never says mean words about anyone except maybe her little brother, but he probably deserved it.
